Ace Frehley`s 51st
Birthday Bash April 27th 2002
Rothman Center - Hackensack N.J.
* The Birthday Boy *
^^ Ahhh - yes , the autographed
LP and the Laminate to the Ace Bash =) ^^
^^ Heres the cake that Gene carried in on his
quick visit ^^
^^ Heres Ace looking to
display his Les Pauls on the table ^^
against the wall , which were for sale that day . $$$$
Thats Ace`s girlfriend sitting down sipping a soda .
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A limited # of 500 tickets were available @
$125.00 ea.
When we arrived we got our numbered AceBash laminate,
a party bag (8X10 signed Ace photo, Ace Bash - pic,
pencil, balloon, & postcard) cool memorabilia !
and 3 diff. colored tickets, one for the photo/autograph
session w/Ace, one for the guitar raffle, and one for a pretty
sad excuse for lunch, a hot dog, bag of chips and a soda -
seeing that we were there from 12 noon til 8pm that was
not a good call on the promoters behalf - well .. for him it
worked
out fine $$$$ - but we were starving - and alot of people were
unhappy about it - we also got a slice of cake later .
The line to meet Ace was very unorganized as well , there were
some fans getting bent outta shape while in line - but, I can`t
blame them - they were supposed to be going in order by the #
on your laminate - but people were just getting in line as they
came
in the door and cutting all the people waiting for our proper
turn,
I was # 148 and I sat and watched the line just grow and grow,
some of the higher #`s got to meet Ace before we did -
and thats what pissed off alot of fans that day !
They should`ve been checking #`s in the line - but they weren`t ,
Isn`t that why we had numbered laminates ??
Another bad call by the promoter " Thanks Richie "
They said to be there by 1pm - we showed @ 12 and still was 150
people back - doors didn`t open till 2 - we got in around 3:30
only to be evacuated from the building for about 45 minutes
because of a bomb scare - I`m glad it was nice outside .
We got up to meet Ace around 6:30 - it was nice to meet him,
`tho he wasn`t too responsive to the fans ?!
Regardless of all the B.S. I`m glad I was there !!
* Ace had nothing to do w/organizing this bash, he was the paid
guest *
^^ Ace w/Eddie Trunk during the Q&A ^^
Ace gets onstage, sees the logo "SSG" the band
that played
that day and says " What the F%@K does that stand for lol
"
Yes , he did let us know how he felt about Gene & Paul ,
"They keep adding tours, and Gene didn`t write the F`n
chorus for Into The Void - I DID , KISS camp owes me
about 3 million dollars , I`m putting out a CD this year
and it will be better than anything I`ve done w/KISS
etc...."
Go Ace - hope the CD Rocks !!
^^ Heres a shot of Gene`s quick visit ^^
As you can see the fans swarmed around Gene ,
Rumor has it Paul
was outside in the limo but after
hearing Ace didn`t have any nice things to say, he declined
on coming in - Eric Singer came in w/Gene though.
Eric played w/his band of friends and said a few words
afterwards.
When Gene left Ace stormed over to the stage, grabbed the mic
and said "its all about the money w/him ! "
Bill Aucion showed up as well - didn`t get a photo of Bill,
the fans swarmed around him as well , he was cool -
signed a few things and took some pics w/fans .
Ace talking w/one of his body guards,
Thats his "New York Steel" Metal vest he wore
most of the day - A true Rock Soldier !
^^ Heres Ace w/his daughter Monique ^^
She was nice, signed a few things for fans.
- Ace wore the sunglasses all day -
I give him credit he stayed till 10:30 that night
to sign every
last fans autograph - and then was on Eddie Trunks show that
night to cap it off, w/Eric on as well - wanna hear or read what
they said = http://eddietrunk.com/ Check
it out !
^^ The lucky winner of the Ace series Les
Paul ^^
Yup, they raffled off a Ace Frehley series Gibson Les
Paul
that Ace sat on the drum riser and signed for the dood
as well ,
Monique pulled the winners name from a hat ,
Man , I should`ve won that guitar lol !
All in All it was an interesting day - maybe not too
smooth,
but - we definately got what we paid for, and it was an honor to
meet Ace "The Spaceman" Frehley !
